Description

This 4ft LED T8 Universal Tube is a perfect pick for any commercial or residential setting including supermarkets, factories, hotels, conference rooms, schools, and offices. Type A+B (Universal) LED Tubes are the easiest to use and can replace fluorescent lamps with no extra parts required for the retrofit. LED Tubes are more energy efficient and longer lasting than fluorescent tubes and contain no hazardous materials! Made with frosted glass.

Type A+B tubes have the ability to operate off of the compatible fluorescent ballast and can also operate off line voltage as long as the fluorescent ballast is bypassed. Installation is plug & play with Type A as long as the fluorescent ballast is compatible otherwise, simply rewire the fixture to bypass the ballast for a Type B installation. Wattage when used as Type A installation is 14W (tube + ballast) while wattage when used as Type B installation is 12W (tube only).

This LED Tube is configured for Double-Ended or Single-Ended Power when used as Type B and can utilize shunted or non-shunted sockets, so you won't have to worry about changing lamp holders.

Discover the Benefits of Plug and Play LED Tubes

Plug and Play LED Tubes are here to stay! They make it easy to replace fluorescent tubes and upgrade your space with bright LED light. Plug and play tubes are easy to install. The process is easy as Step 1, 2, and 3.

  1. Turn off power to the light being changed before installation using the switch on the breaker panel.
  2. Remove the fluorescent tubes. Remember - Fluorescent tubes contain mercury and should be disposed of properly.
  3. Install the LED tubes and turn the power back on.

Please make sure to read the instruction manual of the LED tubes and fixture the tubes are being installed into as the above instructions may not be 100% correct per the specific tubes or product.

Can you put led tube lights in a fluorescent fixture? Can I replace my fluorescent T8 linear bulbs with LEDs?

Yes! LED Tubes can be installed into a fluorescent fixture. When tubes are Type A + B. Type A or Type B, it is easy to replace those flickering fluorescents. A brief explanation of Type A and B LED linear tubes is below.

Type A LED Linear Tubes are often called "plug and play" tubes. This is because they can simply be installed into the existing fixture.

Type B LED Linear Tubes are often referred to as "ballast bypass." They work with all fluorescent fixtures including ballast-free fixtures. Type B linear tubes power goes directly to the lamp sockets and no longer through the ballast.

Type A + B can be used with or without a ballast. It is ultimately the buyer's preference what they want to do. Type A installation uses the LED Tube + Ballast power for more energy consumption compared to Type B installation only uses the raw tube power and is more energy-efficient.

What does ballast bypass mean? How does ballast bypass work?

Ballast bypass means when installing the LED linear tube, the fixture's ballast will need to be removed first. The power will then go directly to the lamp sockets and no longer through the ballast. The benefits of ballast bypass LED replacement tubes include lights not being shut down by a ballast failure, no more ballast replacements, and savings on the energy bill because energy is no longer drawing from the ballast.
